 SWIFT SOLO MATERIAL LIST

360 / 16 foot Ό” by Ύ” bead and cove Western Red cedar strips. You can get by with a

      mix of 14’s and 16’s or you can make the handful of 16’s needed with scarf joints.

Any white cedar or mahogany accent strips desired

I gallon Elmers carpenters glue

3 boxes 9/16” staples

10 hot glue sticks

200 #5 x Ύ” pan head sheet metal screws (to use where staples won’t hold)  These are

         very small diameter

2 lbs 1 ½” drywall screws for strongbacks and spacers

100  Ύ” fender washers to use with small screws (#5 x Ύ”) on cedar strips

4 / 4x8 foot sheets ½” particle board

1 / 4x8 foot sheet 5/8” ACX plywood for strongbacks

1 can 3M Supper 77 spray adhesive

10 plastic squeegees

200 16 oz plastic drinking cups

2 - 4 ½ gallon containers West System epoxy

2 cans – 205 hardener  (27 oz)

2 cans  -  206 hardener  (27 oz)

1 - 207 hardener  (42 oz)

dispensing pumps for epoxy and hardener

1 large container WEST 406 colidial silica

1 large container WEST 407 filler

1 large container WEST 403 microfibers

2 dozen 2” disposable paint brushes

2 dozen 1” disposable paint brushes

1 high quality 3” varnish brush

10 4” rollers/roller frame and disposable roller pans

100 mixing sticks

2 / 12’ 5/4 x 8” cedar for cradle / bow piece (depends on the design needed to fit your

          trailer) should be reasonably clear of knots.

20 yards 50” wide 6oz. S-glass 8 harness satin weave

24 yards 50” wide 5.5 oz. carbon/Kevlar hybrid twill

2 / 50 yard rolls 2” e glass tape

2 / 50 yard rolls 1” e glass tape

1 / 50 yard roll 2” uni- directional carbon tape (for hull, deck and rudder stock)

10 yards e-glass for cradle

2 quarts Epifanes high gloss clear varnish

assorted sandpaper and steel wool

fairing boards

100 10 x 32 tee nuts (for backing for fittings)

Ronstan Hardware package (see attached sheet)  These parts can be bought through me at

      a substantial savings

Assorted screws and pop rivets to install hardware

Sails (either cut down 49er sails or new Banks)*  Measurement for cut down sail

      available upon request

mast complete  (Get from Forte for the tube and track or VMG for completly rigged masts)

boom complete (same as above) 

bow sprit  (same)

49er bow/forestay fitting

49er pole guide ring (or make your own)

launcher throat (get foam blanks or completed from Greg Ryan)

49er spinnaker sock (you'll need to have this modified or order one from Bram)**

49er rudder stock or either make your own or order a lighter one from VMG

boat cover/ If you don’t have someone to build one, I have them (Sunbrella and vinyl).

      Be sure to have it made to cover the transom and have vents installed.

• They can be ordered from Vanguard in the US or the other 49er suppliers around the world at the retail price.    49er sails can be cut down to fit the Swift Solo and used 49er masts spinnaker poles and booms can also be used but they are much heavier.
