PARTS YOU CAN MAKE OR PURCHASE

Below is the array of parts you'll need for your Swift.  It will always be significantly less expensive to make these parts yourself than to purchase them from me or someone else.  To that end, I have written a series of PDFs explaining how to make many of these items.

A few items are not particularly practical to make "one off"and I would reccomend that you either purchase those items or make several and sell the spares (I'll note all such items).  If you choose to make several, I would be most happy to help you sell the extras as long as the quality and methods of construction are up to standards.  Those purchasing parts can be assured that I will not endorse third party parts made an "alternative way" if those parts have not been tested by a serious R&D program.   Anyone with spare parts to sell would do well to attend one of the major regattas to show them off.

This newly designed carbon mast step, when use with the new "extended tenon" carbon mast base solves a number of problems. First, the raised aft section allows high attachment of jib downhaul blocks to avoid "choking" the kite sock. Second, the broad base nearly tripples the contact area to avoid point loading and compression of the deck core.  The increased width transfers the load directly to the vertical members of the trunk and intenal mast step.  Third, the required holes are all drilled for you and an instruction sheet is enclosed for easy installation and setup.

Carbon Mast Step
$110.00

This newly design mast base is designed to go with the carbon mast step above.  The extra long tenon allows you to lower your mast to the transom bar without interference from the raised floppy block for the jib downhaul.  It is reccomended that you purchase both items. No PDF yet exists on how to make these items since it is not practical to make them one at a time.  Please contact me if you are interested in making a series of these items and I will help you with instructions.

Extended Tenon Carbon/S-glass Mast Base with Halyard Sheave Installed
$112.00

This sliding carbon vang base is very light and has a thin profile (allows the mainsail sleave to slide over easily).   This design has withstood several years of testing without any failures.

Carbon Sliding Vang Base
$135.00

This carbon/s-glass pivoting arm set comes with insert bushings and a pin. It's a good idea to order this unit with the sliding base above or, if you are replaceing yours, specify the overall width of the bushings.

Pivoting Carbon Vang Arms
$85.00

These super strong vang arms are made with carbon, s-glass and carbon/Kevlar hybrid.  After many years of R&D we finally got it right.  These will take a lot of abuse.

Carbon and Hybrid Vang Arms
$175.00

When you purchase this complete vang assembly shipping is free anywhere in North America.

Complete Vang Assembly with Free Shipping
$520.00

This super light all carbon outhaul rack will allow you to cut some length off of your boom and will be a guide for trimming the end.  It has a wider and deeper throat for easier connection of your mainsail clew.

Carbon Outhaul Rack
$55.00

This is an item that I reccomend that you make yourself if you have the time. Simply follow the instructions in the cassette PDF

Carbon Rudder Cassette with Tiller
$510.00

This is another item that you will do well to build yourself. Be sure to follow the instructions carefully. It is critical when building any foil section that the integrity of the trailing edge be carefully maintained when sanding. If the bond is weakened, the unit is not repairable.

Carbon Hybrid Rudder
$570.00

This carbon hybrid centerboard is another item that can be made at home.  Just follow the instructions and be carefull at the trailing edge.

40
$875.00

This price is for one loose spreader ready to be bonded directly to the mast or collar as a replacement.  Do let us know the length when ordering so we can prepare both ends for you (order two if you are rigging your mast).  There is a section in the rigging manual that tells you how to make these yourself

Loose Carbon/Hybrid Spreader
$45.00

This is a carbon/hybrid spreader set on a carbon collar that is ready to be bonded or riveted to your mast.

Spreader Set on Collar
$255.00
Carbon/Hybrid Spinnaker Launcher Throat
$285.00

This unit is now made with a high percentage of carbon/Kevlar hybrid which is very abrasion resistant.  The unit comes in carbon color (not white like shown)
